Can You Buy a Car with a Loan?

Buying a car is among the dreams of every family, but while some prefer to achieve this through savings, inheritance, or other means, some prefer to use the credit facility directly, using consumer loans for second-hand cars and vehicle loans for brand new ones. However, one should not embark on this venture without thoroughly answering the question of whether a car can be bought with a loan. Because many mortgaged vehicles sold are actually a consequence of dreams going wrong.

Before buying a vehicle with a loan, remember that you must have a down payment.

Most banks require you to pay a down payment equal to 10% of the vehicle's value, but if you intend to make this down payment by taking out a consumer loan, remember that you will have two different loan payments, which could disrupt your economic balance. Therefore, using savings and paying the down payment without difficulty seems much more logical. Also, do not think that you will only have to pay the loan after you have bought the car. Motor vehicle tax, traffic insurance, comprehensive insurance, maintenance costs, and many other additional expenses are unfortunately among the costs that vehicles will impose on you. Therefore, if you take out a loan that severely strains your income level, and the additional costs of the vehicle are added to this, it is possible to find yourself in very difficult circumstances. Of course, do not forget that every car starts to lose value from the moment it is purchased. One of the biggest mistakes made in this regard in our country is the belief that the car will be sold at a higher price after a few years. If you buy a car worth ten thousand liras today and sell it for twelve thousand liras five years later, you might seem to be making a profit, but in reality, you are at a loss in terms of the real value of money because inflation is higher than this increase. Forget about making a profit on second-hand vehicles, and always remember that your vehicle will lose value. If you want to pay low interest on the loan you take out, you should keep your term as short as possible. The longer the term, the more interest you will have to pay, and your cost will increase for small decreases in installments. Those who can afford it should try to keep the loan at the lowest possible term, even if it means a little hardship. Of course, it is very important to take great care of your vehicle purchased with a loan and to take protective measures such as comprehensive insurance so that all your loan money is not wasted.
