Primary Schools Opened for Kurdish Education in Three Provinces

Institutions for Mother Tongue Education in Kurdish are Starting Education

In the Southeastern Anatolia region, primary schools for Kurdish education have been established in three provinces with the support of the Kurdish Language Research and Development Association (Kürdi-Der). The Kurdish education institutions opened in the Cizre district of Şırnak, the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, and the Yüksekova district of Hakkâri were announced today with a press conference. The press release was made by the president of Kürdi-Der, Sabahattin Gültekin.

Kurdish Mother Tongue Education is Unifying, Not Divisive

It was stated at the press conference that the Kurdish people, who have been suppressed for many years whenever they sought their rights, have shed blood for this struggle for many years. Gültekin stated that these schools are for unifying, not for dividing, and said this is the founding philosophy of the Republic. He emphasized that what they have wanted for many years will now be realized and that the Kurdish people cannot be destroyed by war. Stating that this situation is not to disrupt the process but to support it, Gültekin announced that they will continue these services.
